EditGrid Announced Public Beta
Now Open! EditGrid finally announced public beta!
The competition is keen here, with a number of strong players, including iRows, NumSum, Numbler, and ZohoSheet.
Thanks Omar for the first review! We will make EditGrid the best web spreadsheet.

Before trying to make it the best web spreadsheet you should try to make it work, I just uploaded a sample spreadsheet that I created some time ago and EditGrid showed EVERYTHING completely wrong. ZohoSheet is the best out there that I have tried so far. It was actually the only one that could render that spreadsheet exactly as it looks in Excel.

Dear Hermann,
Thanks for your post and comment. Can you send the original spreadsheet to me (david at tnc.hk) so that we can work it out for you?
Thanks so much!

Well, I am afriad I cannot, because it contains sensitive data. I just uploaded it to test it and deleted it afterwords. There is nothing fancy about it though (even though all but ZohoSheet fail to render it correctly). I just use simple functions such as Sum and the plus, minus, multiply and divide operators with values that are based on other calculated values. You just have to master the math operators and referencing other cells. EditGrid also did not show any color formatting as far as I can remember.

If you could mask the data and send the spreadsheet to us. We will try our best to make EditGrid work for you.
Thanks again.

“Well, I am afriad I cannot, because it contains sensitive data.”…what a load of bull.
Don’t bother, David. EditGrid looks great. Maybe you could put up more “numeric” templates/examples in addition to the “simple-database-oriented” one’s, e.g. Return on Investment, Forecasting, Buy or Lease, Credit Check, Mortgage….etc. Good luck on your venture.

Dear Patrick,
Thanks so much for your suggestion! Let me put up some numeric templates. Good luck to teamslide, too!
Thanks again!
