Many would have thought that ThinkFree and EditGrid compete with each other. We thought so, too. “How are we going to compete with ThinkFree?” is one of the earliest questions we had to answer. ThinkFree Office has been in the market long before our development started in January 2006.

It changed when TJ Kang, CEO of ThinkFree, came to greet me after my presentation in the Under-the-Radar Conference and said, “Let’s work together!”

It turns out that we are not competing! EditGrid’s focus on real-time collaboration and innovation is complimentary to ThinkFree’s focus on compatibility and feature. Today, we are announcing a partnership with ThinkFree - EditGrid will be replacing ThinkFree Quick Edit Calc and, with ThinkFree Power Edit Calc, EditGrid and ThinkFree Office Online will together form a more compelling and complete offering.

Our focused approach on our technology domain has won us businesses. By co-operating with ThinkFree, EditGrid is reaching out to 300,000+ additional users. Users are the biggest drive for us to take online spreadsheet to the next level. A better product will benefit our partners and all our users.

This partnership is also a testimony to our open-minded pursuance of growth through partnership and alliances. We have had in place an infrastructure that makes partnerships work and we will be setting up a partnership page soon. More partnerships will be formed with other great products and services — and why not yours?
